No I didn't forget about this damn game!

This (obscenely late) update primarily alters existing systems to fix bugs or allow for extension with new content. In addition, the tutorial has more notices and handholding to help guide the player. Actually I'm not even sure if I did that...

"Belly" is now an anatomy spot for characters, including the player character. At this time most/all bellies should be visible as outfits have not been updated to cover them (though that is already possible.) In the future, pudgy bellies like Amy's will be visible through vaguely tight clothes while trimmer tummies will be hidden underneath other than shirtless cavemen like Knuckles.

There is now a second solution to retrieving the Smartypants Coin. More solutions will be added as time goes on. The handholding notices only guide the player towards the original solution.

Stuff tagged [QSL] are changes to the underlying QSL (Quest Solaer Library).

Parser update

The command parser has been updated. And bugfixed. And bugfixed again. This should have the following effects (as well as continuing bugs.)

After referring to an object or character once, the player should be able to refer to them with their proper objective for future commands. For instance, after LOOK AT CASSIA, the player can type TALK TO HER and it will work, but not TALK TO HIM. This does not yet work with anatomical target commands e.g. LOOK AT HER BUTT.

If the player refers to a character or object by anything other than their visible alias, or chooses an object from the disambiguation list, the parser will tell you who or what it thinks you meant. For instance, LOOK AT GIRL might clarify as (look at the pronghorn gynoid) or (look at Cassia). Since this is an early version of this system, the grammar of this clarification might be a little awkward for specific commands, or some clarifications might be outright broken.

General changes

  • [QSL] The title card has been redesigned. In particular, more attention is drawn to the Itch link and the new SubscribeStar link, both of which react to mouseover.
  • All backstories should now have working descriptions and the equipment of their loadouts should be colored and described. In addition, each backstory should now have at least two loadout options, and some loadouts are shared between multiple backstories.
  • Preliminary support is underway for the ability to choose one of several sex deities as the antagonist. Currently, only Pruria is available. It's intended for the player to eventually be able to choose a male (???), female (Pruria), or salmale (Tiamat) sex deity.
  • The backstory armors now have attribute bonuses, for what that's worth.
  • [QSL] Selecting a backstory should now preview the loadout items. The player can then choose a different loadout or different backstory.
  • [QSL] Visual changes to notices (e.g. the tutorial telling you how to do things.)
  • [QSL] Changes have been made to the underlying code relevant to anatomy being covered up, bulging, hanging out of clothes, etc.
  • [QSL] As a consequence of the parser update, anatomy-targeting verbs should now work with possessives, e.g. LOOK AT CASSIA --> LOOK AT HER BUTT. Hopefully this will also work with future possessive-directed commands...
  • [QSL] INSPECT is now accepted as an alias for LOOK AT / EXAMINE.
  • [QSL] Preliminary support is underway for the ability to dye clothing items.
  • [QSL] Prefabricated character templates should now be more compact, allowing more to be onscreen at once.
  • All of the prefabs should now have portraits.
  • The player and all characters now have "belly" anatomy of variable plumpness.
  • Character creation should now actually notice invalid values when asked how big / fat / etc. a body part.
  • Cassia should now respond to certain character names, namely ones that are shared with Twisted or Eternal Mobius characters.
  • Exits now have an "exittype" that will permit easier flavor text for taking certain kinds of exits.
  • There should now be a response for LOOK AT FIONA'S BREASTS.
  • In the Aptitude Test Chamber, players will now be informed of the OPEN command when LOOKING at any of the furniture in the room.
  • Upon retrieving a certain item, the player will now be informed of the USE [A] ON [B] command.
  • It is now possible to interact with the floor in the Aptitude Test Chamber.
  • [QSL] It is now possible to THROW [A] AT [B].
  • There is now a second solution to the Aptitude Test Chamber which may or may not be related to THROW [A] AT [B].
  • There is now a board in the Aptitude Test Chamber recording each solution found. As the game development progresses, various means of solving the chamber will be added. The player will only be able to perform one per playthrough, but they will persist across New Game + whenever this is implemented.
  • The battle against the succubus now properly informs the player that combat is not done, so neither is the combat tutorial she is supposed to be.
  • [QSL] As a temporary band-aid, the game will now respond to SLAP, PUNCH, KICK, and a bevy of other specific phrases by advising the player to just HIT instead.
  • The grapple hook now has text for using it on its own, because the default text implied it couldn't be used for anything.
  • The player is now required to drink from the spring before continuing to Fuchsia Hill. (There was originally going to be a proper boss here, which may return in future versions, New Game +, something like that.)
  • Belly is now an anatomical area and should be listed when LOOKing at characters.
  • [QSL] It is no longer possible to attempt to WAIT FOR # SECONDS or WAIT FOR # MINUTES. (see Bug fixes > WAIT)
  • Some NPCs or objects have new flavor texts for some verbs.

Bug fixes

  • Antoine's and Rotor's character objects now exist, so references to them such as the Knight of Acorns backstory should no longer produce INVALID_OBJECT.
  • Character names are supposed to display in color, usually matching either their body or hair color. Characters who weren't displaying in color and should now do so include: Bunnie, Nicole, Sally
  • Philmobist's description should now be fixed.
  • [QSL] The response when picking an invalid backstory should be fixed.
  • [QSL] The parser was having trouble with partial matches (e.g. LOOK CAS was not resolving to LOOK AT CASSIA). This should be fixed; the parser should now match any object if any of the words in its name start with the input (e.g. LOOK PRO should match PRONGHORN GYNOID and BEAUTIFUL PRONGHORN)
  • As part of fixing said parser, when not identified, characters should have more consistent naming conventions. All of their aliases are their race and sex, while other notable details like color or really big privates are in prefixes or suffixes.
  • [QSL] LOOK AFT should now correctly work as an alias for LOOK ABAFT.
  • [QSL] The error message when attempting to equip something that isn't equipment should be fixed.
  • [STILL TESTING] Clove should now identify the player character as naked based on whether anything is equipped to the body, as opposed to her earlier, oddly specific metric of whether there were bare balls visible.
  • The door leading from below deck to the Aptitude Test Chamber should now display the checkmark and Xs properly.
  • Player characters' very large breasts and/or genitals should now properly slap against their belly or legs when taking exits - occasionally with most exits, and always with stairs.
  • Player characters' big butts should now swing side to side occasionally when walking between rooms.
  • [QSL] A character's butt displaying as hips should always display the correct size now, as well as any future anatomy that can be expressed variably as singular (butt) or plural (hips.)
  • [QSL] WAIT/REST/SIT should no longer cause an error. However, it won't do anything outside of an Adventure, in which (as a placeholder) it fully heals the player. WAIT will begin working as intended only after the time system is implemented.

Known issues

  • Command clarifications are still not working as intended.
  • Player characters with both huge busts and huge boy parts do not seem to prompt the appropriate flavor texts when moving.
  • Enemy names do not always display properly on the "[name] attacks!" prompt at the start of battle.

Major goals

  • Implement the supporter track for upcoming major builds.
  • Finalize attribute format and implement a save / load system.
  • Fully implement Talents (which currently do literally nothing.) This includes the "weapon Talent" that changes based on what weapon type is equipped.
  • Some Talents should allow retrieving the Smartypants Coin with no complications.
  • When the ship crashes, remove the Smartypants Coin and broom (or the player should be able to ditch the stupid things SOMEHOW.)
  • The beach's adventure zone needs a description. (Fuchsia Hill's should probably be updated too.)
  • Implement gaining rings, scrap metal, or other drops from enemies.

well now, this is a surprise. so i seen fat an size related thing, i take it there are going to be things that alter our chars down the road? like one to many doughnuts making the players a bit on the fat side? or perhaps naughty plants or foes altering their assets?

No fat fetish content planned at this time, sorry! Expansion if present will likely apply only to lady parts and boy parts
